That’s SXSW done now this is what we have learned from the whole debacle….
It is a bit difficult to see any bands what you want to and so you shouldn’t try. I did see however, the hotly-tipped-for-the-next-big-thing, Polly Jean Harvey and John Parish. I then saw some visual spectacular, from Tel Aviv, in the form of the shifting crowd containing Monotonix.
In terms of where I was before that. The Mojo Bootleg Barbecue at the Mean Eyed Cat, This was good for two reasons: Graig and Charlie Reid. Indeed The Proclaimers enjoyed my set at this and they played and it was great. Other highlights were the fun and fantastic Hot Leg. Rolo Tomassi were a great little bundle of energy.
We have walked through South Congress in Austin and then back to watch the bats fly out. This was a bit of a special sight.
Everywhere we have been the soundtrack has been thrust upon us by The Miserable Rich, incessantly busking their way though Austin.
I think it’s time to go home now.
